Motorcycle Crash in Colleton County, SC

A man was flown to the Trident Medical Center after sustaining traumatic head injuries in a motorcycle crash in Colleton County, SC:

An adult male received multiple traumatic injuries and a head injury in a motorcycle accident on Mount Carmel Road at the intersection of Weans Road.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:43 p.m., Saturday, April 22.

According to Colleton County Fire-Rescue, the driver was traveling southbound when control of the motorcycle was lost as he made an approach in a 90 degree curve.

He was found approximately 30 feet from the motorcycle by a passing motorist. He was not wearing a helmet.

Firefighter-Paramedics from Station 26, located a short distance from the scene, arrived quickly and began treating the man. However, his condition quickly deteriorated, so a medical helicopter was requested.

He was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 26 with additional Firefighter-Paramedics onboard to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center. The patient was transferred to the CARE Flight crew and then flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.

Charleston, SC Motorcycle Fatality

A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed after crashing on the 52 connector at I-26 in Charleston earlier this month:

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has identified the motorcyclist who died in a Tuesday night crash.

Ethan Gorby, 20, of Goose Creek, died from blunt force injuries sustained in an unwitnessed motorcycle crash, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Brittney Martin said.

The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday on the 52 connector at I-26, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover said a driver on a Ducati motorcycle was traveling east on the 52 connector when they went off the side of the road and hit a guard rail.

Greenville, SC Motorcycle Fatality

Another young man (35) was killed after a motorcycle crash on Laurens Road in Greenville County, SC:

GREENVILLE, S.C. —

The victim in a deadly Greenville crash that caused a major traffic backup earlier this week has been identified.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said Anthony Trach Bui, 35, of Greenville, died Tuesday after the crash at Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The crash was reported just before 4 p.m. on Laurens Road near the intersection of Washington Street.

Greenville police said the crash involved a Toyota Tacoma and a motorcycle.

An autopsy showed Bui died of multiple blunt force injuries in the accident, the coroner said.

Orangeburg, SC, Motorcycle Fatality

There was another motorcycle fatality on I-95 in Orangeburg, SC, this month:

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person died in a motorcycle crash in Orangeburg County Friday.

The crash was reported at 2:47 p.m. on Interstate 95 near mile marker 88, Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover said.

Investigators say a 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling north on I-95 when it crashed.

The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the victim of the crash.

Hollywood, SC, Motorcycle Fatality

A NC man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Hollywood, Charleston County, SC:

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office says a North Carolina man died in a Saturday night crash in the Hollywood area.

Raleigh David Woods, 65, of Supply, North Carolina, died at the scene from a blunt-force injury he suffered in the crash, Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal said.

Deputies responded at 6:40 p.m. to Highway 174 near White Point Road where they say a motorcycle went off the highway and into the water.

Sheriff’s office spokesperson Andrew Knapp confirmed the motorcyclist died in the single-vehicle crash.

Spartanburg, SC, Motorcycle Fatality

A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a car in Spartanburg, SC:

SPARTANBURG, S.C. —

The Spartanburg County coroner has released the name of a Florida man who was killed in a motorcycle crash in South Carolina.

According to troopers, the crash happened around noon on Sunday on U.S. Route 221 near Felt Drive, three miles south of Spartanburg.

Troopers say the driver of a 2012 Buick sedan was traveling west and trying to enter US-221 from a private drive.

According to troopers, the Buick was then struck by a 2008 Honda motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle died as a result of this crash.

The coroner identified the victim as Denis Rodriguez, 45, of Palm Bay, Florida.

Rodriguez died of blunt-force trauma, the coroner said.

The family of Rodriguez says he was a grandfather and was in the Upstate for a job.
