June 2, 2025 – Motorcycle Crash in Spartanburg, SC
There were two crash victims in a motorcycle collision in Spartanburg, SC, this week – the driver of the motorcycle was hospitalized, and the passenger was killed in this tragedy:
SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified two victims of a deadly motorcycle crash in Spartanburg County on Monday.
SC Highway Patrol said a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling east on SC 14 around 6:25 p.m. when it hit the driver’s side of a 2007 Dodge truck near Oak Grove Road.
A passenger on the motorcycle was declared dead at the scene at 7:17 p.m. while the driver was taken to the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center with critical injuries, according to troopers.
The coroner identified the passenger as 37-year-old Sarah Brittany McElrath from Travelers Rest.
The driver was later pronounced dead at 10 p.m. and was identified as 60-year-old Bobby Goode, the coroner said.
SCHP said the truck driver was not injured.
May 23, 2025 – Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Spartanburg County, SC
A motorcyclist was killed after a head-on collision with a Jeep in Woodruff, SC week before last:
SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said they were called to a deadly crash.
The coroner said the incident happened on Friday afternoon.
The coroner said Brandon Branch, 36, was driving a motorcycle down the 900 block of Buncombe St. when he struck a Jeep head-on at the intersection on Perrin Avenue in Woodruff.
The coroner said Branch died at 3:55 p.m. on Friday. A forensic exam is scheduled for Saturday.
May 17, 2025 – Fatal Single-Motorcycle Crash in Spartanburg, SC
A motorcyclist was killed after losing control of his bike and hitting a utility pole last month in Spartanburg:
SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the victim of a motorcycle crash Saturday night.
The coroner identified the victim as 30-year-old Fernando Ortiz from Spartanburg.
The Spartanburg Police Department reports responding to the eastbound side of John B. White Sr. Boulevard near Ammons Road.
The police said Ortiz was traveling east and hit a power-phone wire pole after losing control in a curve and was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:13 p.m.
April 25, 2025 – Motorcycle Crash Death in Greer, SC
A motorcyclist was killed in Greer, Spartanburg County, SC, on April 25 after a collision with a car:

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office was called to a crash Friday afternoon.

A motorcyclist was killed after an SUV turned left in front of them in Spartanburg at Camelot Drive and W.O. Ezell Boulevard:
A motorcyclist died after colliding with an SUV around 5:40 p.m. this evening.
Spartanburg police say the SUV driver was making a left turn at Camelot Drive and W.O. Ezell Boulevard when the motorcyclist hit the SUV’s passenger side.
Investigators said the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital but died from their injuries.
The driver of the SUV was hurt, but the injuries were not life-threatening.
